I don't really know where to start

So, I've been absent from my blog lately. Not because I didn't have anything to say, quite the opposite in fact. There has been ALOT to say, I just wasn't free to say it.

Today, I am.

We are moving to San Antonio. Lance has accepted a job as student minister at a church there.

This is a BIG change for us. We've lived in BCS for almost 9 years. Our lives are here, friends, jobs, house, schools, everything. We are very excited and it's very clear that this is where God wants us next. But....we still have lots of emotions to process. This is where our children came to us - that alone makes this community a special place!

Yesterday, we were able to tell our church and that was a huge weight lifted from us. It's hard to keep things from people you worship and do life with.

They were so affirming to Lance yesterday and that was nice. Now, we begin the next phase of our transition - trying to sell our house and saying our goodbyes.

So, if you know anyone who'd like a 2-story, 4-bedroom home in Castlegate, send them our way!!! (sorry, shameless plug there!)

I'll write more in the days to come as we process life in transition.

Here's my sign

Okay, some of the "punch" is lost looking at it sideways, but the fact is, this is an award I never thought we'd receive! :)

We have a lovely sign in our yard declaring us Yard of the Month for Castlegate and now I'm highly motivated to keep the yard weed free and well cared for while Lance is gone! And maybe this is why we really won. They've seen what happens to our yard during the summer while Lance is gone and it's HOT outside. Yeah, MommaJen tends to not really care.

Still here

I'm still alive. Things have been a wee bit chaotic these first two weeks of summer!

Most normal people relax and slow down during summer vacay! At our house, it's the opposite. Lance's busy season is summer and so is mine, so our kids don't have the hazy, lazy days of summer that I did growing up.

Plus, the kids have spent the last two weeks in swimming lessons; N had Space Camp this week and we had VBS every night! The exhaustion has arrived!

But, Lance leaves town tomorrow morning and the kids and I have exactly two things planned for the weekend: playdate with friends and church on Sunday and THAT IS IT. I'm beside myself with excitement at the lack of things to do. Although, I'm sure a few loads of laundry and some vacuuming may have to be squeezed into our weekend of laziness!

We're cutting edge over here

So, this article talks about the "up and coming" jobs that pay well and are in demand.

How awesome that N wants to be a volcanologist since it's on the list.

'Course things could change in the next 15 years while he finishes his education! But, I'm glad he's looking at this job than say, a typewriter repairman or a seller of rotary dial phones.
